Rana walked through the doors of Canterlot High. "Well, this has to be better than Crystal Prep." She sighed out, slowly walking up the stairs that lead to the school. With every stair she took, memories flashed before her eyes.
With the first step, she remembered her first day in Crystal Prep. All the cold, uncaring faces, The cruel looks in everyone's eyes, but most of all, the big, empty feeling she felt while she was there. Something was missing. Something important. But Rana had no Idea what that was.
She walked up the next step. One of her worst memories flew by. The time she was attacked in one of the school bathrooms. She was nearly left with a concussion, but she suffered a broken arm. Rana never knew that people could be so mean. All she had done was talking to one of the girls crushes, then she got a note in her locker from someone asking Rana to meet her in the bathrooms at 4:00pm to talk about boyfriends. Of course, Rana jumped at the chance. She had a crush on someone, but didn't know how to open up to him. The minute she walked in, the girl showed Rana to the ground. Rana didn't really remember much after that.
She walked up the third step, and remembered the time when she thought she had a friend. The joy Rana felt was incredible! That's when she knew what had been missing. The empty feeling in her was filled. Rana was always with her new friend. Gossiping, lying, and shop-lifting. Rana had never done those things before, but soon, they became a part of her.
Rana walked up the fourth step and pain instantly hit her. Rana closed her eyes and tried to keep the tears from falling. The pain she felt was the pain of betrayal. Rana's best friend had started gossiping about Rana. Soon, the whole school knew that Rana's real name was Piranha, she had a crush on one of the most popular boys in school, and that Rana was obsessed with Piranhas. Everyone laughed at Rana and made cruel jokes about her. It was as if Rana had a target on her back. The empty feeling in Rana's life grew. It was as if it would swallow her up.
Then came the fifth step. The last one. A tear escaped as she remembered the day she made her decision. She would leave Crystal Prep. As it was announced, all of the students got a look of satisfaction on their faces. They knew they had scarred their target for life. Rana felt like she wanted to be swallowed by the empty feeling. As she left the school, a sense of relief flooded her. She would no longer have to deal with these cold, mean-spirited students. She was safe.
Rana snapped back into the real world when she heard the school bell. "I better hurry." She mumbled, rushing inside. Rana sniffed, then wiped her eyes. She wouldn't blow her chance. Squaring her shoulders and putting a confident look on her face, she walked into Canterlot High, leaving the past in the past.
